Volunteer Drivers (Springboard Kitchens program)
One of our newest volunteer opportunities is in Springboard Kitchens. The volunteer drivers for Springboard Kitchens use an agency van to take meals to agencies and institutions that serve group meals on a regular basis to their students or clients. Meal deliveries are made five days a week, but volunteers can choose to deliver anywhere from 1 to 5 times a week, depending on their availability. We could also use substitute volunteer drivers, who would be asked to come in on an occasional basis.
Meals are produced by our students under a trained chef instructor in our downtown Pittsburgh kitchen. The volunteer driver would be responsible to come to the kitchen to pick up the meals at a specified time and then deliver them to locations in Bellevue and the East End. Deliveries normally take place during mid- to late-morning hours.
The primary requirements for this position are a track record of being reliable and a clean driving record.
Volunteer Exercise Instructor (Senior Centers program)
Our senior center in Slippery Rock is in need of an instructor to teach any type of exercise (e.g. jazzercise, sitting exercises, yoga, etc.) to seniors who are interested in learning new ways to stay active. Classes must cater to an older population. We are currently looking for someone to teach a class on Tuesday and/or Wednesday during center hours.
Experience and certification helpful, but not required. Please call center manager Mary Lou Kirin at (724) 794-6440 if you are interested.

Database Volunteer (Administrative office)
If you are looking for something to do this winter, we can really use some help with data entry! This volunteer would work in our North Hills office approximately 2-3 days per week, depending on your availability.
Blood Pressure Volunteer (Three Rivers Senior Center)
The Three Rivers Senior Center is in need of a volunteer to take our clients’ blood pressure once or twice per month.

We occasionally have volunteer needs that become available last-minute. In these cases, it would be helpful to have a list of volunteers that we can call or e-mail with short notice to help with these needs. If you would like to be a substitute volunteer or a volunteer on this occasional list, please let us know by completing the online volunteer application or by speaking with our volunteer services director at 412-366-9490. Being on this list does not obligate you to fill any request we send. We will inform you as these opportunities arise, and you can simply let us know if you are interested in helping at that time.
