Marc Bloomingdale, President and CEO

A veteran of 20 years in Lutheran social services, Marc served most recently as vice president of community services for Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio, where he managed 11 programs, including  an adoption service, counseling and disaster response initiatives, food pantries, and housing complexes. Prior to that, Marc served in positions of progressive responsibility with Lutheran Social Services of Iowa, and later, as acting CEO of Lutheran Social Services of Kansas and Oklahoma. 

Marc was hired by Lutheran Service Society to reorganize the agency and to implement ways in which the agency could both diversify revenue and expand programming.

 

Patricia D. Davidson, Chief Development Officer

For the past 12 years, Patty has been responsible for managing numerous special events and cultivating donor relationships in the nonprofit sector. She directed community and economic development efforts for a local, state-sponsored organization, and worked in a development department responsible for raising more than $2 million each year. Patty completed her undergraduate work at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Communication and Theatre with a concentration in interpersonal communications.

For Lutheran Service Society, Patty develops agency-wide fundraising initiatives, coordinates events and communications efforts, and oversees the agency's work with its most valuable resource - its volunteers. A member of the Association for Fundraising Professionals and the Association of Lutheran Development Executives, Patty administers all aspects of individual giving, corporate giving, and grant writing for the agency.

 

John Dickey, Chief Operations Officer

A native of Kansas, John graduated from Wichita State University and received a Master's degree in Family Systems Therapy at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas. John has worked with service organizations throughout his career, serving three different Lutheran agencies in four states as well as other non-profits. His previous experiences include directing mentoring services, children and family services, rehabilitation services, homeless services, health and wellness clinics, housing, community dining, and journalism. 

In 2006, John came on staff at Lutheran Service Society at the executive level to lead program development in all of the agency's service areas.

 

Jennifer Flanagan, Chief Business Development Officer

Jennifer joined Lutheran Service Society as a result of the agency's strategic focus on increasing earned revenue. Springboard Kitchens was the first major program she developed for the agency. Jennifer is now charged with leading efforts in seeking out additional mission-based, revenue-generating program opportunities for the agency, as well as overseeing Lutheran Service Society's move to a Web-based performance outcomes measurement system.

Prior to joining Lutheran Service Society in 2008, Jennifer worked at an area foundation where she was responsible for assisting nonprofits with the planning, launch, and development of mission-based businesses. Previous experience also includes securing federal grants and multi-state demonstration projects for the health care and educational sectors, as well as ten years in the corporate sector in marketing and communications. Her combination of business, social enterprise, development, and marketing experience makes her a good fit to oversee the agency's move toward more revenue-based programming.

 

Joe Goldin, Chief Financial Officer

Joe was hired at Lutheran Service Society in 2008, after the agency performed a thorough review of its fiscal department, examining accounting policies and procedures among other fiscal activities. He directs all of the agency's budgeting and accounting activities and supports the board's finance committee in its work.

Joe came to Lutheran Service Society from his role as business manager for Presbyterian Shadyside Imaging Services of University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He completed his undergraduate work at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va., where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and in Business/Economics. He is a recent graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business, where he earned his Master of Business Administration degree.

 

Jayme Holloway, Executive Assistant

Beginning her work with Lutheran Service Society in July 2006, Jayme is a graduate of Bradford School and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and is a member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals. 

Jayme brings to Lutheran Service Society her experience in health and human services, as well as her background as an executive assistant and graphic designer and print coordinator. She works with the other members of the agency's executive leadership to obtain resources and to manage information and systems.

 

Betsylynn Majzlik, Chief Administration Officer

Betsylynn is a lifelong resident of Beaver County, Pa., and was educated at Edinboro University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. Betsylynn recently graduated from Robert Morris University with a Master's degree in Nonprofit Management. 

A 35-year employee of Lutheran Service Society, Betsylynn has worked directly in many of the agency's programs, such as Senior Centers, Meals On Wheels, Specialized Transportation, and Affordable Housing. Since November 1990, she has held her current position, overseeing risk management provisions for the agency, as well as the human resources department.
