The Adoption Program at LSS provides in-depth, compassionate, and professional services to couples or individuals seeking to adopt. LSS can help you though the process of adopting international children, domestic infants, older American children, or children with special needs.

LSS has provided adoption services for over 80 years; we have a highly experienced staff, and a solid track record of helping children find permanent, loving homes. Our program is open to parents of all denominations, and serves families throughout western Pennsylvania.

For families adopting internationally, LSS works closely with partner agencies who have highly reputable overseas adoption programs. We are members of the Lutheran Adoption Network, a nationwide collaboration of over 30 Lutheran agencies. For families interested in adopting older U.S. children, we have a long and highly successful history of coordinating placements of waiting children from Pennsylvania and many other states. We also assist families pursuing domestic infant adoption, by completing the adoptive homestudy and working cooperatively with attorneys and infant placement agencies anywhere in the country.

LSS periodically holds free open house events and informational meetings for prospective adoptive parents. We offer pre-adoption training classes, support throughout the adoption process, and a range of post-adoption services.

LSS can also provide a free individual consultation, at your home or at one of our offices, to share information about the adoption process and assist you in making decisions about the type of adoption that is best for your family.
