LSS operates one senior center in Beaver County. The center provides a wide variety of activities and services to residents of Beaver County 60 years and older (under 60 spouses are also eligible). The center is located in the former Fourth Ward School, in Monaca Heights. We offer a wide variety of regular fitness classes including Silver Sneakers, Tai Chi, ballroom dancing, line dancing and mobile movements. Parties, cards and games, craft classes, and health & educational programs are also offered. Continental breakfast and hot nutritious lunches are provided every day. The Monaca Senior Center is funded, in part, by the Beaver County Office on Aging and the Pennsylvania Department of Aging. A voluntary program donation of $2.00 per day is suggested. The donation helps pay for center operations and programming. Special events, such as bus trips, some instructional classes and special parties may require an additional fee. The Monaca Center is also houses the Beaver County Home Delivered Meals Program, which is operated by LSS, under a contract with the Beaver County Office on Aging. The program delivers meals to homebound elderly, who are assessed and deemed eligible by the Office on Aging - Options Program. Senior Center members, who become ill or disabled, may also receive meals delivered to their homes, on a temporary basis, through this program.
