Employment Coordinator Named to Butler Co. HHS Council

Lutheran Service Society's Senior Employment Coordinator, Edith Kelly, was recently elected to the position of Treasurer for the Butler County Health and Human Services Council, which is a network of providers working together for the residents of Butler County, Pa.
After being a senior employment participant herself, Edith was hired at Lutheran Service Society. Almost two years later, in 2003, she was promoted to the senior employment program coordinator position. Edith was honored at the agency's 2008 Employee Appreciation dinner for going above and beyond her job responsibilities.
The example used in her 2008 accolades centered on a man who had come to Edith for assistance after experiencing difficulty gaining employment through other programs. She immediately saw his strengths and sent him on an interview. He subsequently was hired and has been gainfully employed in that position for over a year. Edith also had referred him to the Office of Public Assistance to help him gain resources for his own transportation and also for much needed dental services.
Edith is honored to be elected to treasurer for the Butler County Healthy and Human Services Council. The Council meets on a monthly basis to share, learn and discuss opportunities to collaborate and refer neighbors, friends, consumers, and family members to available social service programs.
