Sound familiar?
Those are good New Year's resolutions to have, but you may also want to consider making volunteering a priority in the New Year!
With over 3,500 active volunteers, Lutheran Service Society utilizes volunteer help whenever possible. We currently have openings in our Meals On Wheels program, at the senior community centers, and in our St. Afterschool program, which include needs for:
- Volunteers to help prepare and deliver meals for Meals On Wheels are needed on weekday mornings.
- Volunteers to help prepare, serve, and clean-up after lunch at the senior centers are needed on weekday mornings.
- Volunteers to help with special "supper club" events are needed on weekday evenings (4-7 pm).
- Volunteers to help with the new Center at the Mall in Beaver County are needed during weekday mornings and evenings, as well as on Saturdays.
- Volunteers to provide homework help and educational crafts to children in the St. Afterschool program are needed on weekday evenings (weekday varies by location).
There are many ways you or your group can help outside of operational hours as well. For example, Meals On Wheels participants always enjoy receiving a special favor (e.g. a handmade holiday card) with their meals. These can be produced at anytime that is convenient to you.
