
Meals On Wheels Receives Community Impact Award

At the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Beaver County 25th Anniversary Luncheon, Lutheran Service Society's Meals On Wheels locations in Beaver County were recognized with RSVP's Volunteer Station Community Impact Award.
In addition to recognizing outstanding volunteers with the Community Impact Award each year, RSVP Beaver County also chooses a volunteer member to receive a National Senior Corp Volunteer Service Award and a member to receive its Volunteer of the Year Award.
At the luncheon, which was held on Wednesday, September 22nd at the Fez in Hopewell Township, representatives from each of Lutheran Service Society's Meals On Wheels locations was presented with a certificate of appreciation from the Corporation for National & Community Service, and a certificate of recognition from Senator Elder Vogel, Jr.
Leslie Montgomery, director of volunteer services for Lutheran Service Society, offered remarks to thank RSVP for the award and to recognize the volunteers. Present to receive certificates were volunteers from Lutheran Service Society's Aliquippa Meals On Wheels, Rochester Meals On Wheels, Chippewa Meals On Wheels, Conway Meals On Wheels, and Five Points/Hopewell Meals On Wheels locations.
The master of ceremonies for the event was Beaver County Commissioner Joe Spanik. In addition to the awards ceremony, RSVP volunteers from throughout Beaver County enjoyed a catered lunch, entertainment from a Dean Martin impersonator, and door prizes.
