New Position Focuses on Distressed Communities
Created on: Fri, 07/15/2011 - 6:52pm
With the help of a grant from the Richard King Mellon Foundation, Lutheran Service Society was able to create a new position in our Food & Nutrition Services division. This position, Community Outreach Coordinator, brings many possibilities for the future of recruitment of volunteers and the stabilization of programs in highly distressed communities. We are pleased to announce that Geoffrey Zak began his role as Community Outreach Coordinator this week. Geoff brings with him six years of social service experience, primarily working with under privileged populations, at risk youth, and gang-infested communities. His first year of employment will be focused on developing the agency's Meals On Wheels program in the Homewood community. Geoff's zeal and energy for helping others will be an asset to the agency, and especially to those being served in Homewood.
