How To Help
Volunteer
With more than 2,200 individuals to serve each year, it is no surprise that one of our biggest needs with this program is a strong corps of volunteers!
Individual Volunteers
Individuals are needed to help in the kitchen to prepare meals and to go on deliveries to consumers' homes. It is a great way to meet people in your community. Help is needed most on weekday mornings, and individuals can volunteer on a daily, weekly, monthly, or even a seasonal basis. (Please note that to help in the kitchen, volunteers must be 16 or older. Children of all ages may accompany their parents or grandparents on deliveries.)
Congregations, Community Groups, & Youth Groups
Your group can adopt a local kitchen as a service project. Plenty of one-time and ongoing opportunities are available.
Businesses
Employers can start a Corporative Volunteer Program for Meals On Wheels, where employees are allowed time off during the work day to deliver meals. Many companies choose one day per month that a small group of employees will help at the local kitchen.

Donate
Because not all participants are able to contribute towards the cost of their meal, we rely on outside donations to allow the service to continue. You can help continue Lutheran Service Society's Meals On Wheels program with financial support.
Click here to donate online or to print a donation form to send with your check or money order. Be sure to indicate "Meals On Wheels" for your gift to be directed to the program. (If no designation is indicated, your donation will be utilized where it is needed most.)
We are also in need of supplies, like paper products, to be used at the kitchens. These items can quickly add up in cost. Crafts and other items to be used for favors for the consumers are also a welcome contribution. To get an idea of what is needed at your local kitchen, please call us toll-free at (866) 496-6640.
